OUR COMMITMENT TO THE CANOPY
Early in the history of our company we made a commitment to our employees, our community, and the environment that we would:

Our approach to environmental responsibility is rooted in common-sense environmentalism—practices guided by verified scientific data and balanced with practical, sustainable alternatives.
We operate with the environment in mind at every stage of our manufacturing process.

We source our lumber from sustainably managed forests and tree farms, ensuring long-term forest health and renewable supply. Our preserved wood is produced in facilities that meet (and often exceed) EPA regulations. Our paved lumberyard, covered storage, and strict handling standards reflect our commitment to minimizing impact and protecting surrounding soil and water resources. We also supply wood that meets Best Management Practices, and offer paper-wrapped material upon request.

Preserved wood provides significant environmental benefits: because it lasts longer, it reduces the frequency of replacements—meaning fewer trees harvested over time and less overall pressure on forest ecosystems. The durability of pressure-treated lumber also reduces landfill waste and the environmental footprint of future manufacturing, transport, and construction cycles.
